Does your ethnic background hold you back from success? Today in America, we have a epidemic of race tensions within the walls of our country. Anything and everything seems to spark this concept that you cannot succeed because of your ethnicity. This is not true. It is sad to see horrible things on the news or watching a video on social media where teens record fights on their cell phones, video of police hurting people and so forth. When you watch all these videos on Facebook or Youtube, people begin to talk about the big subject of racism and other social issues we face today. So let me say this, racism is wrong and has no place within you or I. But the real question needs to be asked. Does someone view of me actually hold me back from becoming successful? You really need to ask yourself that question. Go to the mirror and ask yourself “Does someone else’s opinion of me hold me back from becoming successful? The answer is plain and simple. NO! and I will tell you why. Continue reading
Look, I am Hispanic born and raised on the south side of San Antonio. My family was not rich in money or material things but my Dad worked hard by working 2 jobs and he provided a roof over our heads, food in on the table and clothes on our backs. All I knew growing up was my hispanic surroundings. I didn’t know anything else until I was 20 because I wasn’t exposed to any new ideas. That included how to save and build personal wealth, how to handle myself in a professional manner and how I can become successful finanically. I will share with you what I am doing to save and build wealth in a later post. In 2002, I left home to join the Navy. Up until I left to bootcamp, my entire world was the south side of San Antonio. I didn’t know anything about the world nor what it actually had to offer me. I knew of places from pictures in magazines but I would have never thought in a million years that I would ever go to any of these places. At the age of 20, I took a real hard look at my life and where I wanted to go and I knew that I had to do something to change my situation. You can read the rest of my personal story HERE
because I want to touch on the subject of racism, sexism, prejudice and your personal success. I am going to share with you the hard truth about success and why you have no excuse you cannot be rich and successful in America.
When it comes to your own personal success you are responsible! Yes you! No one and I mean no one is holding you back. You have to make a commitment everyday and stay committed to your dreams and goals. What do you really want to do in life? Listen, what are you good at or what can you get good at? Ask yourself that question. Pause for a moment and write down the things that you can do that will increase your income. Examples; Social Media, Coding, Mechanic work, cut grass, IT, Video editing, photography, etc
Did you write them down???
Ok now we can move on. Let me tell you what I am doing in my own journey to increase my income. I get up everyday around 3:50 am. BOOM! YES I DO! I get up this early because I am sick and tired of being sick and tired of living paycheck to paycheck. So this is my morning schedule folks.
- Alarm goes off 3:50 am and get out of bed
- Drink a big cup of water
- Wake up for 5 minutes – **Advice** Get The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod Here it will explain more about why you should get up early.
- Read my Bible for 5 minutes to gain wisdom and get my mind right. I am currently reading Proverbs.
- Read a book about business, selling, or entrepreneurship for about 5 minutes.
- Get on my computer and begin to strategize for Poverty Sux. I write a blog post for future posts and create digital content for social media accounts.
- Invest in myself by learning how I can offer my services to local small businesses around my community.
- Always learning the latest techniques on digital marketings i.e. Google Adwords, Facebook Ads, etc.
You see I am sharing all of what I can do with other small businesses because I believe that I am valuable in the market place. I do not let racism, sexism, or prejudice hold me back from pursuing my dreams and you shouldn’t either. There is nothing on this earth that can hold you back. The problem that people face today are many things but just to name a few them they are laziness, lack of confidence, entitlement, poor thinking, no defined purpose in life, no ambition, no education, ill health, unfavorable environmental influences, procrastination, lack of persistence, negative personality, lack of sexual control, lack of power of making decisions, and many more. I urge you to get THINK AND GROW RICH HERE. I read it a year ago and all I can say is that during the reading of this book, it helped me realize that I am in control of my own destiny and life. I am hungry to have money, help people, be a better example to my kids and have a positive impact on my community and guess what? NO ONE IS HOLDING ME BACK! NO ONE! No KKK, Politician, Black Lives Matter, man or woman. No one! I am putting the effort and my time into what I want to accomplish. I will be rich one day in monetary items, rich in love in my marriage, rich in relationships with my wife and kids and rich in family and friends.
When it comes to money. I will give you a secret to how I have saved a huge stack of cash. Here is my first secret. When I get paid, I AUTOMATICALLY, AUTOMATICALLY, AUTOMATICALLY, take out 15% of my pay and store it away. Whatever I have left, I use that to pay bills and whatever I can do with my family. You see I am taking full responsibility for my family and myself. No amount of racism, sexism and prejudice will ever hold me back in pursuing security for my family and myself. Do we have problems in our country? Yes but let me give you some advice. Turn off the TV and social media. Focus on you and make you a better person. I have said this again and again. Les Brown once said “Do not let the opinion of others become your reality.” When you allow words and thoughts to take root within your mind, you allow that person to take hold of your mind. Feed your mind food and fresh thoughts of success that will reproduce good fruit in you. I am constantly hearing or watching motivational audiobooks or videos to keep me focused on whats right. I will usually listen to a audiobook while I drive or when I go for a walk. You need to get your mind right and take massive action. It is all up to you. Not the government or anyone else.
